The NBA Playoffs are here, and, needless to say, well, its fucking crazy. Eastern Conference powerhouses Cleveland, Boston, Atlanta, and Orlando have to deal with newcomers the Bobcats and Bucks, and repeat offenders Chicago and Miami before they deal with each other. Not to mention the steady West, which boasts 8 50 win teams for the first time. Los Angeles, Dallas, Pheonix and Denver take on Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Portland and Utah before the first round is all said and done. MVP candidates Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony are all present as well as the NBA's youngest scoring champion ever (Kevin Durant) and its perennial Defensive Player of the Year (Dwight Howard).

Yesterday featured 4 games, beginning with Lebron James' Cavaliers at home against Derrick Rose's upstart Bulls. What began as a washout was actually competitive, but, needless to say, Cavs lead the series 1-0.

Lebron: 24 pts, 6 rebounds, 5 assists.

Rose: 28 pts, 7 rebounds, 10 assists.

Rookie of the Year candidate Brandon Jennings began his sure-to-be-lengthy playoff career off with a bang, pouring in 34 points (damn near an NBA rookie record) in the Bucks Game 1 loss to Atlanta yesterday afternoon. Even without Andrew Bogut (broken arm) the Bucks pulled within 7 points late in the 2nd half, but the Hawks - who some say have an outside shot at the Eastern Conference Championship - proved to be too much.

Brandon Jennings: 34 pts, 5 rebounds

Joe Johnson: 22 pts, 7 rebounds, 5 assists.

The nightcap began with last year's MVP runner-up Dwayne Wade trying to lead his Heat to an upset Game 1 victory over the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics. Rondo proved healthy enough to play and dished out 10 assists while he was at it. Miami led by as much as 14 before Boston took over, and besides a slight skirmish between Kevin Garnett and Quentin Richardson, cruised to victory.

Dwayne Wade: 26 points, 6 ast, 8 rbs.

Rajon Rondo: 10 pts, 10 ast.

The most competitive and possibly most highly anticipated game of the day began at 10:30 and wasn't truly decided until the final minutes of the 4th quarter. The usually competitive matchup of the 4 and 5 seeds brought us to Denver where the Nuggets have home court against the streaky Utah Jazz. Deron Williams got in his groove early but it was Carmelo Anthony's playoff career-high 42 points that lifted Denver.

Deron Williams: 26 pts, 11 ast.
