10 Years In The Making?
After the commercial and critical acclaim success of Dr. Dre's last album (2001), not to mention its place in rap history, Dr. Dre has been publicly hinting for years that a his 4th album would be titled "Detox" and it would be released in 2006. No, make that 2007. No, no that's all wrong. 2008 and 2009 is when he said it would be released.
Point is, Detox has been put off and pushed back for damn near half a decade. Its been so highly anticipated and talked about that some artists and label reps refer to it as a myth. So you can see why its so important that finally, after almost 10 years something concrete has materialized from Dr. Dre (let alone doing it alongside Jay-Z). As unfinished and interrupted by DJ's as it may be, its proof that Detox is coming.
